About our Virtual Exchange program
Our university offers undergraduate courses in different knowledge areas which are organized in faculties and schools. Our international students may take subjects from different academic programs and levels, which take place during the 202120 semester, which will begin at the end of March and finish mid July 2021.
UDLA subjects have between 2 to 6 credits and are taught between 2 to 4 hours per week. They are taught in Spanish and for some specific cases in English.
The pedagogical model of the Universidad de Las Américas is based primarily on the mission, vision, and institutional values of the institution. The professors plan in an inverse manner. In other words, the content, evaluation mechanisms, and educational managed are planned based on the proposed objectives and Student Outcomes.
The professors, using diverse methodological strategies, evaluation mechanisms, and feedback mechanisms, permanently verify that the student has understood the fundamental concepts and can apply them in different context, using different types of communication (verbal, written, body, technological, etc.) in a reflective and well-founded manner from various perspectives.
In this context, the emphasis is not on the content itself; but rather, on the knowledge building process and on identifying learning objectives or purposes through the development of integrating competences that can be seen through the desired results. In this way, students integrate their knowledge at the cognitive, procedural, affective, and evaluative levels.
All our academic programs have a training program of between 8 to 12 levels which include subjects from the academic program, General Training (Basic Science, Social Science, and Humanities), and an English language training program with different levels.

The undergraduate subjects are free of charge for the students at our partner universities that have an exchange program and a signed agreement with UDLA*.
